Metrology

metrologyRSI provides management, consulting and technical services for Metrology laboratories. We started providing Metrology services in 1982 at Brooks AFB. Our current operations include the Johnson Space Center (JSC) laboratory for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the U.S. Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program, and Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. At the JSC, we perform calibrations on over 20,000 instruments supporting the Space Station and the prior Space Shuttle Program. We ensure traceable measurements are used to certify instruments for aligning weapon systems or certifying critical programs.

We streamlined the JSC Metrology workflow in 2010, and were subsequently presented the JSC Group Achievement Award for reducing operational costs and increasing process cycle efficiency. RSI designed and implemented a quality process for JSC Metrology laboratory which earned ISO 17025 accreditation and Z540.3 compliance, providing the highest level of quality calibrations for spaceworthy operations.

Our staff includes several ASQ Certified Calibration Technicians, ASQ Certified Managers of Quality / OE, and ASQ Certified Quality Auditors. We also have an ACLASS ISO/IEC 17025 lead assessor on staff to provide consulting and training to the Metrology industry.
